Iron Blues…

With the Grannom now coming to an end in South Wales, I’m thinking forward towards the next few major invertebrate hatches.

Granted, we don’t tend to get a major hatch of Iron Blues in South Wales (not like ‘them thar good ol’ days’), but I do enjoy tying them.

Below are a couple of quick shots from this evening which show a CDC-based emerger-style pattern, and a parachute dun, both tied on the Partridge Patriot Fine Dry (SLD) #18. Light, delicate, and true trout food.
