North Wales Country Fair 2011
I’m happy to announce that I’ve been added to the list of guest fly tiers at this year’s North Wales Country Fair at Rhiwlas, Bala, North Wales, and which takes place on the weekend of 13th & 14th of August 2011. I will be joining the ranks of Gwilym Hughes, Louis Noble, Dai Jones, Trevor Jones, and Emyr Breeze, to name but a few.
My time behind the vice will be spent not only demonstrating and discussing the tying of ‘micro’ flies (specifically micro baetis and midge in both the emerger and adult stages) in sub #20 sizes for use on the rivers of Wales and beyond, but also discussing how to fish them effectively. If you’re attending the Fair, feel free to drop by for a chat!
A number of my GAIA colleagues will also be present throughout the entirety of the weekend, and will be providing fly casting tuition and demonstrations for both juniors and adults. Whether you’d like to try and iron out any annoying casting niggles, or are totally brand-new to fly fishing, the guys will be excited to help you along.
Of course, the event will also be showing off a wide range of other activities, not just fishing, with activities ranging from clay shoots, dog trials, motorbike stunts, even axe throwing (!). The event offers something for everyone, and is a great day out.
If you follow either my blog, Fly Fishing in South Wales, or drop in on my main website, Gareth Lewis Fly Fishing, and are planning on attending the show, please feel to drop by, it’d be great to have a chat and put a face to the name!
A few memories of last year’s fantastic Fair are shown below, but feel free to read the full report on last year’s event over on the blog by clicking here. For more information on this event, simply visit the North Wales Country Fair website at www.countryfairnorthwales.co.uk.
