Just a reminder for those of you planning on visiting the Gwent Angling Society’s annual fly tying demo this Sunday. All details are below, including directions.
The day will see a wide range of flies being tied for a range of fishing environments and species, and by a host of great tiers; river, still water, salt, trout, grayling, salmon, sewin, permit, bone-fish, etc; all will be covered.
As well as tying their chosen specialities, the tiers would also love to answer any queries you have, whether they relate to a specific pattern or to a certain technique. Just ask away!
I’ll be spending the day focusing on the two main areas of my fly tying: midges, micro emergers and dry flies in the range of size #20 down to #32, as well as my go-to ‘Five Patterns For Small Streams’. I will also be answering any questions you might have, so feel free to drop by my table for a chat. Don’t be a stranger!
All are welcome to this fantastic fly tying event, entry to which is £10 and includes a rather great, but gut-busting, hog roast! There will also be a bar on-site and a raffle taking place with some great prizes.
For more information, feel free to download a copy of the Gwent Angling Society’s Fly Tying Demo flyer here or see their website by visiting www.gwentanglingsociety.co.uk.
Come along for a fantastic afternoon; I’ll look forward to seeing you!
