REMINDER: Gwent Angling Society Fly Tying Demo This Sunday! Don’t Miss Out!

Just a reminder for those of you planning on visiting the Gwent Angling Society’s annual fly tying demo this Sunday. All details are below, including directions.

Tiers include Louis Noble, Gwilym Hughes, Alun Rees, Jonathan Davies, Sean Jones, Keith Passant, Chris Price, Dai Jones, myself and Mark Roberts.

The day will see a wide range of flies being tied for a range of fishing environments and species, and by a host of great tiers; river, still water, salt, trout, grayling, salmon, sewin, permit, bone-fish, etc; all will be covered.

As well as tying their chosen specialities, the tiers would also love to answer any queries you have, whether they relate to a specific pattern or to a certain technique. Just ask away!

I’ll be spending the day focusing on the two main areas of my fly tying: midges, micro emergers and dry flies in the range of size #20 down to #32, as well as my go-to ‘Five Patterns For Small Streams’. I will also be answering any questions you might have, so feel free to drop by my table for a chat. Don’t be a stranger!

All are welcome to this fantastic fly tying event, entry to which is £10 and includes a rather great, but gut-busting, hog roast! There will also be a bar on-site and a raffle taking place with some great prizes.

For more information, feel free to download a copy of the Gwent Angling Society’s Fly Tying Demo flyer here or see their website by visiting

Come along for a fantastic afternoon; I’ll look forward to seeing you!
