After attending the 2010 Gwent Angling Society Annual Fly Tying Demonstration as a guest tier, I am very happy and excited to have been invited back to the 2011 event, and I will be re-joining a fantastic bunch of fly tiers, featuring Louis Noble, Gwilym Hughes, Alun Rees, Jonathan Davies, Sean Jones, Keith Passant, Chris Price, Dai Jones, and Mark Roberts.
The day will see a wide range of flies being tied for a range of fishing environments, and by a host of great tiers; river, still water, salt, etc, will all be covered.
I’ll be spending the day focusing on the two main areas of my fly tying: midges, micro emergers and dry flies in the range of size #20 down to #32, as well as my go-to ‘Five Patterns For Small Streams’. That said, if you’d like to see a specific pattern tied or fancy learning a new technique, all you have to do is ask as we’ll be more than happy to run you through it. Feel free to drop by my table as I’d love to have a chat. Don’t be a stranger!
All are welcome to this fantastic fly tying event, entry to which is £10 and includes a rather awesome, but gut-busting, hog roast! Feel free to download a copy of the Gwent Angling Fly Tying Demo flyer here or, for more information on the Gwent Angling Society, visit www.gwentanglingsociety.co.uk.
Come along for a fantastic afternoon; I’ll look forward to seeing you!
