BFFI 2010

BFFI 2010

It’s that time of year again, the time of year which sees thousands of fly fishing & fly tying obessives headed on their pilgrimage to the proverbial fly-tying Mecca (or in this case, Staffordshire) for the annual event that is British Fly Fair International; by far the best fly tying event of the year.

However, the show isn’t just for those interested in fly dressing, as the weekend long event offers something for all in the form of it’s myriad exhibitions, casting demonstrations or fishing clinics and discussions.

If you’re interested in fly dressing, this event holds a truly special status. More akin to a toy shop for adults, the majority of attendees can be seen shuffling about at pace, busily trying to play with every vice, rod or pack of hooks on display…and I’m one of them!

Excitement is starting to build across our far-and-wide angling community too, as the majority of UK fishing blogs and forums are all showing signs of pre-BFFI jitters. It’s just that good a weekend!

For more information on the Fly Fair, feel free to visit the BFFI website at The site details the many tyers and exhibitors, as well as a fantastic programme of events.

Hope to see you there!
